Polk County, TX — July 28, 2024, Yasmin Perez and three others were injured in a car accident shortly before 7:00 p.m. along U.S. Highway 59.
According to authorities, 21-year-old Yasmin Perez and a 17-year-old boy were traveling in a northbound Mitsubishi Outlander SUV on U.S. 59 in the vicinity south of Goodrich, Texas, when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a Chevrolet Malibu occupied by a 33-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy failed to appropriately control it’s speed. It reportedly collided with the rear-end of the Outlander; the impact caused the SUV to go into a spin and veer off of the side of the road, crashing into a tree with its rear-end before coming to a stop.
Perez and the young boy from the Malibu suffered reportedly serious injuries as a result of the wreck. The teen from the Mitsubishi and the man from the Malibu sustained moderate injuries, as well, according to reports. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
