Carrollton, TX — June 8, 2023, two workers were injured due to an alleged drunk driving accident that happened at 11:01 p.m. on the Sam Rayburn Tollway.
Preliminary details about the crash say that it happened along the northbound lanes of the tollway in the area of Hebron Parkway.

According to officials, two workers were near a truck and trailer that was stopped along the right side of the tollway. While there, it appears that a northbound Nissan veered into that lane and crashed into the truck-trailer combo, hitting the two workers, as well.
As a result of this collision. one of the workers reportedly had incapacitating injuries. The other worker’s injuries weren’t specified. Statements say the Nissan driver claimed to have been trying to avoid a truck that came off the shoulder, however authorities allege that the driver showed signs of intoxication and had multiple open containers of alcohol in the vehicle. They allege that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time, and records show a recommendation for a charge of intoxication assault.
The status of potential pending charges and additional details about the accident are unclear at this time.
