Midland, TX — January 28, 2024, two people sustained injuries as the result of a semi-truck accident at 10:30 a.m. along Interstate 20.
According to initial details released by authorities, the crash happened along eastbound lanes of the interstate near Midkiff Road.

It appears there was Animal Control along lanes of I-20 working to remove a dead animal from the road, and they stopped traffic to do so. A 60-year-old woman in a Lexus SUV and a tractor-trailer occupied by a 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman slowed down due to this work. From behind, though, authorities say a Peterbilt tractor-trailer failed to control speed, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision.
As a result of the collisions, the 22-year-old woman in the semi-trailer reportedly had serious injuries. The driver of the Lexus apparently had moderate injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. Authorities say they recommended the driver of the second tractor-trailer be charged for failure to control speed. No further information is available right now.
