Fort Worth, TX — April 9, 2023, Whitt Lelux sustained fatal injuries as the result of an accident just before 2:00 a.m. along Alliance Gateway Freeway.
Tarrant County and Fort Worth Police officials released initial details about the fatal accident, which they say happened near the intersection of Highway 170 and the North Freeway/I-35W. Details surrounding what specifically occurred in the accident are still unclear.
Authorities described the incident as occurring in the roadway, and it resulted in Whitt Lelux sustaining blunt force injuries which ultimately proved fatal. It’s unclear if anyone else was involved in the accident, and the factors surrounding it are still under investigation.

While it isn’t all that unusual for authorities not to give much information to the public, it becomes more concerning when they’re equally tight-lipped with the victim’s loved ones. I can’t help but think of all the times folks came to me about a loved one’s death looking for someone who could get the police to release their reports or to otherwise admit they weren’t giving the accident the attention it deserved. My hope is that no such steps would be necessary here and that there are answers behind the scenes the victim’s loved ones find to be thorough.
