How Did This Accident Occur?

A lot of people immediately assume that single-vehicle accidents happen due to driver error. That obviously happens, but it’s important all possible factors get attention. That’s where typical police investigations often come up short. Not every department has the motivation or even the proper tools to investigate vehicle defects, electronic data, roadway analyses, and other things that require more than just a quick glance at the crash site.

This is why it’s important for families to follow up with authorities early and often. If it seems authorities are able to address all doubts and concerns, that’s generally a sign they’re doing good investigations. But if their answers come up short, then that may be a sign that independent investigators will have to step in to get the whole story.
