Brazoria County, TX — June 8, 2023, several teenagers were injured as the result of a walkway collapse accident at around 1:00 p.m. near Bluewater Highway.
Authorities report that the incident took place along a walkway off of Bluewater Highway in the Stahlman Park area.
According to current information, a group of teenagers from Bayou City Fellowship camp were in the area for summer camp activities. It appears several people were on an elevated walkway at the time when it somehow collapsed.
Due to this collapse, around 19 teens were injured. Some estimates say 21 people were hurt. At least two of the victims were said to still be recovering from their injuries, however reports currently say no injuries were life-threatening. The ages of the victims range from 14 to 18, reports say.
At this time, the cause of the collapse is unclear and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
