Osceola County, FL — June 20, 2023, a Virginia man was injured following a semi-truck accident at around 2:00 a.m. along the Florida Turnpike.
Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol said that the crash happened south of Orlando in the area of the Florida Turnpike and U.S. Highway 192 interchange.
According to officials, a 24-year-old Virginia man was in a commercial truck that was going southbound along the turnpike. For reasons which are not entirely clear, that truck crossed paths and collided with another truck that was also going southbound. This caused the Virginia man’s truck to run off-road at Fortune Road where it then overturned and caught fire.
The Virginia man exited the burning truck with critical injuries, and emergency responders flew the man to a hospital. The other truck driver involved reportedly did not have injuries. Authorities did not release any additional details about the factors leading to the collision.
