Granbury, TX — June 18, 2024, Victoria Bilbrey was injured as the result of a single-vehicle car accident at 11:00 p.m. along James Road.
According to initial details about the accident, the crash happened in the area of James Road and U.S. Highway 377.
Investigators said that 20-year-old Victoria Bilbrey was in a Ford Escape going southbound along James Road. For reasons unclear, the vehicle ran off the side of the road where it crashed into a tree, then overturned. As a result, Bilbrey had reportedly serious injuries.
At this time, no further information about the crash can be confirmed.

Something to keep in mind is that even crashes like this can involve very complex factors authorities may not be able to look into on their own. People tend to assume authorities have crack CSI teams digging into these accidents. The reality is single-vehicle wrecks are often seen as a low priority, and that often leads to mishandled investigations.
For example, I handled a case a while back where authorities missed a major defect that contributed to the accident. The victim’s seatbelt was defective, causing them to be thrown from their seat despite safely using their seatbelt. Authorities found the victim out of their seat and just assumed they hadn’t been wearing their seatbelt. The victim wasn’t in a position to tell their side of the story, so had there not been more thorough investigations, authorities could have blamed someone for something they couldn’t control.
While I’m not necessarily saying anything like that happened here, it’s an example of why thorough accident reconstructions are always important. I don’t see anything right now that would make this incident an exception to that.
