How Did This Accident Occur?
Head-on crashes like this happen usually because one vehicle left its lane and moved into oncoming traffic, but which one was it in this accident? Evidence at the scene should allow authorities to figure that out, but the question of why the crash happened still lingers.
Was one of the driver’s distracted? Dealing with a medical issue? Fighting a malfunction that impacted its brakes or steering mechanism?
The answers to these questions will come from a thorough investigation, one that includes data from both vehicles and any available witness accounts or video footage of the crash. Cell phone records could help too, but independent experts may be needed to check out the drivers and their vehicles. Police typically don’t have medical degrees or advanced mechanic training, in my experience.
