Accident Report
February 23, 2026, Tyisha Burgin was injured due to a car accident just before 2:30 a.m. along Alternate U.S. Highway 90.
According to authorities, three people—a 37-year-old woman, a 45-year-old man, and 35-year-old Tyisha Burgin—were traveling in an eastbound Hyundai Tucson on Alternate U.S. Highway 90 at the off ramp from the Fort Bend Parkway tollway when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Tucson was involved in a collision with two other eastbound vehicles: a Toyota Camry and a Ford Maverick.
Tyisha Burgin reportedly sustained serious injuries over the course of the accident. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Details surrounding this accident are still extremely limited. After three decades of examining car accidents, I’m slow to jump to conclusions. It occurred in the dark hours of the early morning. Could one of the drivers have been distracted, fatigued, or even impaired? Aside from the possibility of human error, was there, perhaps, something wrong with one of the cars? A mechanical malfunction or a product defect? Something like throttle malfunction or tire failure could easily have played a part.
Hopefully, the authorities who are in charge of investigating are being thorough and openminded as they do their work. A vehicle inspection done by a trained professional in a laboratory setting would be able to either rule out or bring to light any mechanical malfunctions or products defects with the vehicles themselves. If the authorities fail to get one done, maybe a third party investigation should be considered in order to make sure that all the bases are covered. After all, the people affected by this wreck deserve real answers backed by solid evidence, not vague assumptions.
