Kershaw County, SC — June 17, 2024, one person was killed and another was injured in a two-truck accident along Interstate Highway 20.
According to authorities, an 18-wheeler was slowing for traffic conditions in the eastbound lanes of Interstate Highway 20 in the vicinity east of U.S. Highway 521 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a second 18-wheeler failed to slow for the traffic conditions, resulting in a rear-end collision with the first 18-wheeler. The person who had been behind the wheel of the rear-ending truck suffered reportedly fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the other 18-wheeler sustained injuries of unknown severity, according to reports, and was transported to a local medical center in order to receive necessary treatment.
