How Did This Accident Occur?
It would be easy to blame this crash on driver error after a box truck overcorrected and collided with an oncoming pickup, but my experience with commercial vehicle accidents has shown me there is seldom such a thing as an easy explanation.
The key is figuring out why the truck left the road in the first place. Was it driver error, or did a mechanical issue cause the truck to accelerate unexpectedly? We won’t know if the truck had a mechanical problem without a thorough investigation by a qualified expert. That is not typically part of a police investigation, so the families affected by this crash may need to pursue an independent probe of the crash.
