Fort Worth, TX — June 17, 2026, two people were killed in a car accident at about 2:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 287.

Authorities said two vehicles were involved in a crash while heading north near Harmon Road.

How Did This Accident Occur?

It is not clear at this time how these two vehicles came together and why. I hope authorities will be able to get to the bottom of that in their investigation.

Physical evidence, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage should help investigators piece together what happened on U.S. 28, while cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time of the crash.

Was one driver distracted, fatigued or even impaired? Did one vehicle rear-end the other, or did they collide while changing lanes? Was another vehicle involved in this crash, or maybe a mechanical issue contributed to it?

If the official investigation can’t answer those questions for the families who are grieving this accident, perhaps an independent investigator should look at everything with a fresh set of eyes.
