Abilene, TX — December 3, 2022, two people were injured in a three-car accident around 4:06 p.m. on N. Mockingbird Ln. in Abilene.

Officials report a Chevy Impala had just received a green light and was about to attempt a left-hand turn onto N. Mockingbird Ln. when the Impala purportedly stopped in fear of being struck by an allegedly speeding southbound Chevy Cruze. The Chevy Cruze reportedly then ran its red light and collided with a westbound Ford Escape which was attempting a left-hand turn to head south on N. Mockingbird Lane.

Authorities say the Cruze’s front driver-side of its bumper hit the front passenger tire of the Escape. The collision reportedly forced debris to fly off the vehicles and strike the driver-side hood of the Impala.

The Ford Escape driver and the Chevy Cruze driver were both transported to a medical center with reportedly serious and minor injuries, respectively. The Chevy Impala driver was reportedly uninjured. There were no passengers in any of the vehicles.

Police recommended charging the Chevy Cruze driver with disregarding the red light and the Ford Escape driver with driving without a driver’s license.
