Cass County, MO — August 1, 2023, six people were injured due to a semi-truck versus train accident which happened Tuesday afternoon off East 187th Street.
Investigators said in their statements that the crash happened outside of Belton off the corner of East 187th and Holmes Road.
According to officials, a semi-truck with six occupants was traveling along the road where it reportedly crossed over a railroad track. Doing so, it appears the trailer became stuck. An approaching train could not stop, crashing into the tractor-trailer.
As a result of the collision, the six occupants of the truck were taken to the hospital, reports say. It appears they were two adults and four children. Some sources say that one of the kids may have sustained serious injuries. No further information is available at this time.
