Essex County, VA — April 9, 2024, two people were injured following a truck accident shortly before 10:40 a.m. along State Route 360.
According to authorities, a medical transport van came to a halt due to a fallen tree blocking its path on S.R. 360 in the vicinity of the Piscataway Creek Bridge.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a Freightliner 18-wheeler hauling a flatbed trailer collided with the rear-end of the van. The 55-year-old Henrico man who had been behind the wheel of the van incurred suspected serious injuries as a result of the wreck. He was driven to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive treatment for injuries not described as life-threatening. The Tappahannock man who had been in the midst of being transported by the van sustained reportedly life-threatening injuries. He was flown to an area hospital in order to receive immediate treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
