How Did This Accident Occur?

There is still very little publicly known about what happened in this accident. Hopefully, the authorities who are in charge of this investigation are being as thorough and openminded as they should be. I look forward to seeing what their investigation reveals once it is complete. In the meantime, I’m wondering if one or the other of the involved drivers was fatigued or impaired in some way. It did happened early in the morning, after all. I also have questions about the conditions of the vehicles themselves. Could a mechanical malfunction—such as brake failure, for example—have played a role in the outcome?

If, for whatever reason, it seems like the authorities are being shortsighted in their investigation, a third party investigation can always be called on to take a second look, as well. It never hurts to have everything gone over with a fresh perspective.
