Silver Creek, NY — November 29, 2023, one person was killed in a truck accident at about a quarter to eleven at night along Interstate 90.
According to authorities, an 18-wheeler was traveling eastbound on Interstate 90 approaching the exit for Silver Creek when the accident took place.
For as yet unknown reasons, the 18-wheeler veered out of the lane of traffic and onto the right-hand should of the interstate. There, it collided with another 18-wheeler which had been parked there in order for the occupants to switch who was behind the wheel of the vehicle. The collision with the stopped vehicle caused the impacting 18-wheeler to jack-knife and overturn off of the the side of the interstate, allegedly rolling several times before coming to a stop, reportedly aflame. The sole occupant of that 18-wheeler was declared dead at the scene as a result of the crash. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the accident is still under active investigation by local authorities. The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were not specifically reported on. There are not currently any additional details available pertaining to this incident.
