Middlesex, VT — June 26, 2024, one person was injured following a truck accident sometime during the morning along Interstate Highway 89.
According to authorities, one person was occupying a southbound pickup truck that was at a stop parked in the shoulder beside the active lanes of I.H. 89 when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pickup truck was struck by a southbound box truck, causing it to be pushed into roadside foliage. The box truck also left the roadway, reportedly coming to a stop on railroad tracks located near the interstate. One person who had been in the pickup truck suffered reportedly non life-threatening injuries as a result of the wreck; they were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Reviewing the box truck’s event data recorder, inspecting the vehicle for mechanical issues, and obtaining the driver’s account can provide crucial insights.
