King City, MO — November 21, 2024, two people were injured in a truck accident at approximately 9:15 a.m. along Highway Z.
According to authorities, a 29-year-old Pattonsburg man was traveling in a westbound Ford F-250 pickup truck on Highway Z in the vicinity east of King City when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a side-swipe collision took place between the pickup truck and an eastbound Peterbilt 18-wheeler. The collision caused the pickup truck to swerve to the left, crossing over the center line and entering the oncoming lane of traffic. This led to a secondary collision where the pickup truck struck the front-left of a second eastbound Peterbilt occupied by a 65-year-old man. That impact caused the 18-wheeler to veer off of the roadway, crashing into an embankment and overturning onto its left side.
Both the man from the pickup truck and the man from the second 18-wheeler sustained reportedly serious injuries over the course of the accident. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of the victims—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
