Kilgore, TX — June 26, 2025, a man was injured as the result of a truck accident at around 1:54 p.m. along US Highway 259.
According to initial details about the crash, it happened in the area of the US 259 and Post Oak Road intersection.
Investigators said that a 28-year-old man was in a Chevy pickup going southbound on the highway. A Dodge Ram 3500 pulling a trailer was going eastbound. Authorities say that the truck-trailer combo failed to yield the right-of-way, resulting in the two vehicles colliding.

A lot of the time when people see claims that someone failed to yield, they assume that the accident is straight-forward. In reality, there could always be extenuating circumstances to consider. Are there issues with signage at the crossing? Was the driver who failed to yield working at the time? Were they rushing to meet a deadline? Were they on their phone? Have authorities inspected the vehicles for potential defects? Likely or not, investigators need to be able to at least rule out these kinds of factors. Otherwise, something important could slip through the cracks.
