Harris County, TX — January 25, 2024, a woman was injured as the result of a semi-truck accident that occurred around 10:50 a.m. on Huffman Cleveland Road.
Preliminary information about the crash released by authorities says that the crash happened in the Huffman area just off of Commons Vista Drive.
According to authorities, a 64-year-old woman was in a Hyundai Elantra going northbound along Huffman Cleveland Road. In oncoming lanes, there were multiple stopped vehicles as one was waiting to make a left turn. Authorities say that a semi-truck approaching those vehicles could not slow down in time—possibly due to faulty or worn brakes—and it swerved left to avoid hitting the stationary vehicles. This led the truck and the Elantra to crash.
As a result of the collision, the woman in the Hyundai had serious injuries. There were no other reported injuries. Right now, it’s unclear if any charges or citations were filed. No further information is available at this time.
