Ector County, TX — January 11, 2024, two people were injured in a truck accident at approximately 9:20 p.m. along Interstate Highway 20.

According to reports, a 31-year-old man and a 4 year-old girl were traveling in an eastbound GMC Sierra in the left of two lanes on I.H. 20 in the vicinity northwest of Farm to Market 1053 when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that the Sierra was traveling at speeds upwards of 100 miles per hour leading up to the accident. The vehicle reportedly made a lane change at an unsafe time, merging onto the outside lane and colliding with the back end of a tractor-trailer. The collision caused the pickup truck to overturn onto its left side, coming to rest in the right-hand lane of the road. The 18-wheeler pulled over and came to a stop on the right shoulder.

The 4-year-old girl incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the crash, while the man sustained reportedly moderate injuries. They were both transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
