Denton, TX — May 22, 2024, two people were injured following a multi-vehicle truck accident at approximately 7:20 a.m. along Cooper Creek Road.
According to authorities, an Isuzu pickup truck occupied by a 51-year-old man and a 41-year-old man was at a stop in front of a Chevy Silverado pickup truck in the eastbound left turn lane of University Drive at the Cooper Creek Road intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, a southbound 18-wheeler with a trailer in tow on Cooper Creek Road overturned onto its left side as it attempted a right turn onto westbound University Drive. As a result, it slid into the traffic that was stopped in the left turn lane. It hit the Isuzu and a Nissan Altima that was in the lane next to the Isuzu before coming to a stop. The collision reportedly pushed the Isuzu into the Silverado, as well.
The 51-year-old man from the Isuzu sustained reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck; the 24-year-old sole occupant of the 18-wheeler suffered moderate injuries, too, according to reports. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
