Dallas, TX — January 8, 2024, two people were injured in a truck accident at approximately 4:50 a.m. along Stemmons Freeway.
According to reports, a 44-year-old man was attempting to cross the active northbound lanes of the freeway on foot from east to west in the vicinity south of Commonwealth Drive when the accident occurred.

The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reported to have been rainy and wet. The pedestrian was reportedly first struck by a northbound Honda Civic which had been traveling in the second lane from the right on the freeway. This collision threw the pedestrian into the far left lane where he was struck by a Mercedes-Benz which came to a stop after the collision. The Dodge Charger which had been in the far-left lane behind the Mercedes-Benz swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision with the halted Mercedes-Benz. The Charger reportedly struck the concrete wall on the left side of the road. As a reaction to seeing the Charger lose control, a Honda Accord which had been traveling in the middle lane swerved, as well, causing the vehicle to lose control; this resulted in a collision with the trailer of an 18-wheeler that had been traveling in the second lane from the left.
The 27-year-old woman who had been an occupant of the Dodge Charger sustained suspected minor injuries during the accident, while the pedestrian incurred suspected severe injuries. Both were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
