Bergen County, NJ — June 21, 2024, one person was injured following a truck accident shortly before 3:30 a.m. along Interstate Highway 80.
According to authorities, the accident took place in the westbound lanes of Interstate approaching the State Highway 17 exit.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a Mercedes-Benz rear-ended a box truck. One person was reportedly entrapped in the wreckage of the passenger vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. Once freed from the aftermath, the victim was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment for injuries incurred over the course of the accident.
