While additional details can’t be confirmed, authorities mention alcohol as a possible factor in the crash. If that proves to be true, it can create challenging situations for victims and families. While people tend to focus solely on the crash itself, alcohol-related accidents often involve negligent alcohol providers, as well. If they over-serve someone, and that leads to the person harming themselves or someone else, the alcohol provider can be on the hook for those injuries.
Too often, though, authorities never bother looking into that possibility. It can leave victims and families with the burden of seeking alternative avenues to bring those providers to light so they can be held accountable. Maybe none of that will ultimately apply here, but it’s something to keep in mind when considering what steps authorities are taking to get answers here.
