Williams County, OH — April 14, 2023, Tony Sandhal was killed and Timothy Morgan was injured following an accident involving multiple tractor-trailers.
Officials said they were called out to the area of U.S. Highway 6 between County Road 8 and County Road 9 at around 10:30 a.m.
It appears that 54-year-old Tony Sandhal was in a tractor-trailer going westbound along the highway. From oncoming lanes, authorities believe that the eastbound tractor-trailer driven by 42-year-old Timothy Morgan crossed the center line. Morgan’s truck hit one tractor-trailer, then crashed into Tony Sandhal’s vehicle.

As a result of the crash, Sandhal sustained fatal injuries. Morgan was said to have serious injuries. No other injuries were confirmed. At this time, it’s unclear what exactly caused the crash. Investigations are ongoing.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
A truck veering into oncoming traffic is obviously a sign something went terribly wrong. But before people start making assumptions, it’s important to understand just how complex tractor-trailer crashes can be.
A proper investigation has to include all kinds of possible factors, such as manufacturing issues, botched repair work, negligent business practices, medical conditions, lack of training, tire blowouts, cargo shifts, etc. It’s not always as simple as someone speeding, looking at their phone, or falling asleep at the wheel (though such factors are also crucial to look into). Few would understand that better than commercial truck drivers themselves, who have to contend with these potential issues in their day to day.
That’s why thorough investigations are so important in these situations. Maybe someone did something wrong here, or maybe this all was simply unavoidable. It’s up to the evidence to tell that story, and those answers can’t come too soon for families going through such indescribable hardship.
