Beaumont, TX — October 26, 2024, Tommie Hilts, Annie Subject, Shayla Hamilton, and four were injured in a car accident at 9:09 p.m. on Washington Blvd.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Irving Avenue.
Investigators said that 73-year-old Annie Subject, 68-year-old Tommie Hilts, and one other person were in a Kia stopped at the light on eastbound Washington. While there, a Ford F-250 crashing into the back of the Kia, then veered onto northbound Irving. There, it crashed into a Dodge Journey driven by 22-year-old Shayla Hamilton.
As a result of the crash, Tommie Hilts sustained serious injuries. Subject, Hamilton, and four others involved in the accident had reportedly minor injuries. Right now, an exact cause for the crash is unavailable.

Sometimes, a crash falls low on their list of priorities, so they end up letting important details slip through the cracks. It can be crucial, then, to follow up with them and ask key questions.
Did investigators take the time to fully reconstruct the crash? Understanding how two vehicles traveling in the same direction collided requires careful analysis of road conditions, traffic flow, and driver actions. Did authorities document skid marks, impact points, and potential contributing factors like lane changes or sudden stops?
Did they examine whether a vehicle defect played a role? Mechanical failures—such as steering or brake malfunctions—could have contributed to the crash or made it worse. Additionally, if seatbelts or airbags failed, injuries may have been more severe than they should have been. Were both vehicles inspected before any evidence was lost?
