Harris County, TX — July 26, 2024, Tim Nguyen was injured following an alleged hit-and-run accident at around 5:21 a.m. along Franz Road.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened in the area of the Franz Road and Powderhorn Lane intersection, just off Grand Parkway.

Investigators said that 52-year-old Tim Nguyen was in a Toyota Avalon going eastbound on Franz. It appears there was a Toyota Tacoma going the wrong direction, and it crashed head-on into Nguyen’s vehicle. As a result, Nguyen was seriously injured. The other driver’s injuries were less severe. After the crash, authorities allege that the Tacoma driver failed to stop and render aid, but details suggest authorities located the driver. They say alcohol is a possible factor in the crash.

While details can’t be confirmed right now, I would frankly be shocked if alcohol wasn’t involved here. This appears to be a divided roadway, and wrong-way drivers on divided roads is almost always the result of drunk driving. But what makes that particularly important to consider is that many drivers who become intoxicated enough not to know which way is which got to that point because a local alcohol provider illegally over-served them. So not only might there be a driver who has additional mistakes to answer for, but there could be an accomplice to all of this who also needs to be brought forward to answer for their actions. Is that something police have been looking into?
