How Did This Accident Occur?
It is not clear at this point whether this vehicle overturned on its own or if it collided with another vehicle. Authorities will have to sort that out, as well as determining why the vehicle overturned. Was it traveling too fast, or did it have a mechanical issue that affected its stability? Those are the kind of questions that investigators must address as they work to reconstruct this accident.
Physical evidence, witness statements, data from the vehicle and any available video of the crash should help piece together what happened on Woodhaven Boulevard, while cell phone records could show if the driver was distracted at the time.
If authorities suspect a mechanical problem contributed to the crash, a forensic examination of the vehicle will be needed to identify the issue. It should be done by a qualified expert since most law enforcement agencies lack the time or training for such inspections, in my experience.
A thorough investigation should answer any lingering questions that these teens’ families have about this crash.
