Atlanta, GA — July 5, 2023, three firefighters were injured while assisting in another car accident around 12:30 a.m. on Interstate 285 in Atlanta.
According to officials, a firetruck was parked and assisting in a fiery car accident when it was purportedly rear-ended by an eastbound semi-truck. The crash was reportedly west of the exit for Jonesboro Road.
Sources report three of the firefighters were injured but it is unclear if all the victims were on the fire truck at the time of the crash. The three victims were purportedly transported by ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials allege the semi-truck driver also suffered injuries but declined medical assistance.
