China Grove, TX — September 14, 2024, Therston Benjamin was killed following a car accident that occurred at around 12:42 A.M. on Hwy 87.
An investigation is underway into a car accident that left a pedestrian dead during the early morning hours of September 14th. According to official reports, Therston Benjamin was travelling on foot in the eastbound lanes, at the intersection of FM 1516 when a Chevy Tahoe struck him. Immediately after the initial impact, Benjamin was struck by a Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep did not stop and render aid, but fled the scene of the accident. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found that Benjamin had sustained serious injuries and transported him to the hospital. Benjamin later succumbed to his injuries and he was pronounced deceased. At this time there has been no further information released from the accident, including whether any charges or citations will be filed.
