Dallas, TX — April 7, 2024, Thang Tuang and two others were injured after an alleged drunk driver accident on Midway Road at 8:18 p.m.
Current statements from authorities show that the crash took place at the intersection of Midway Road and McEwen Drive.
According to officials, 26-year-old Thang Tuang was in a Lexus going northbound along Midway Road. At McEwen, it appears a westbound Nissan Altima ran a red light, and Tuang’s Lexus crashed into the Nissan.

Tuang reportedly had serious injuries as a result of the crash. The driver of the Nissan also reportedly had serious injuries while the passenger in the Nissan had less serious injuries.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Right now, it’s alleged that the Nissan driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. If that’s true, I have yet to see the answer to two very important questions: How drunk was the driver, and where did they get their alcohol from?
Here’s why those are important questions. Many serious drunk driving accidents involve drivers well over the limit who were over-served by a local bar or some other alcohol provider. Those alcohol providers can be held accountable for their actions just like drunk drivers can. This can take the form of criminal investigations, liability for the crash, fines, or even the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission revoking their liquor license.
Frankly, this area of the law doesn’t get much attention, so it doesn’t surprise me how many people I talk to who have never heard of these legal avenues. Some even look at me skeptically when I talk about this stuff. But I’ve always told those folks to look at it this way. Drunk driving is illegal, it’s obviously irresponsible, and causing an accident by driving drunk warrants consequences, right? So if a bar breaks the law, over-serves someone, and contributes to an accident they know could happen if they over-serve someone, why wouldn’t they, too, face appropriate legal consequences?
So while there are some serious allegations to consider here, the current public details are far from answering all of the important questions. I just hope authorities have been more thorough behind the scenes so the victims and their loved ones feel confident they’re getting the whole story.
