Van Zandt County, TX — July 3, 2023, a teenager was killed as the result of a semi-truck accident at around 5:30 p.m. along Highway 64.
Preliminary details about the accident indicate that it happened just north of Myrtle Springs. It appears that a 17-year-old was in a Nissan Sentra along the shoulder of westbound Highway 64. Details say the Nissan crossed onto the lane of travel where it was then hit by an International semi-truck.
Due to this collision, the teen driver of the Nissan suffered injuries which ultimately proved to be fatal. There were no other reported injuries. Right now, additional details about the fatal crash are unavailable. Investigations are ongoing.
