How Did This Accident Occur?
A single-vehicle crash involving a teenage driver is no doubt going to raise all kinds of familiar red flags. But before people just assume the driver was being reckless, it’s important to gather as much evidence as possible. Just because teens are statistically more likely to make mistakes doesn’t make it okay to jump to conclusions or overlook other possible factors. I’ve had plenty of cases involving young drivers who couldn’t necessarily avoid a crash. Tire blowouts, road conditions, vehicle defects, other reckless motorists—it’s important to rule these out before making any hasty assumptions. Hopefully authorities here kept that in mind and didn’t make any hasty assumptions of their own.
