Teen, 1 Injured in Alleged DWI Accident on U.S. 287 in Grand Prairie, TX

According to authorities, a 17-year-old boy from Mansfield was in a Chevy Camaro going southbound on the highway. Another Camaro driven by a 30-year-old man reportedly cut off the teenager, and the first Camaro rear-ended the one ahead. There were also claims of an animal potentially being in the road, leading to the chain of events. Ultimately, it resulted in the teen driver having serious injuries while the adult driver had moderate injuries.

Authorities allege that the adult driver was possibly intoxicated due to alcohol, though further specifics were not confirmed. This can actually make things a lot more complex than folks may realize. It’s rarely as simple as just charging a drunk driver and moving on. There could also be a local alcohol provider responsible if they illegally over-served that driver. This isn’t something authorities typically look into on their own, but perhaps authorities here will take things more seriously with such a young victim involved. Otherwise, if this incident is like hundreds of cases I’ve had over the years, there may need to be investigations into what authorities may have overlooked.
