Houston, TX — June 2, 2023, two people sustained injuries due to a tanker truck accident at around 4:53 a.m. along the North Freeway,
Houston and Harris County officials responded to the area of the crash early Friday in the area of West Gulf Bank Road along northbound lanes of the freeway.
It appears that the incident involved a U-Haul truck that was going northbound and approaching a tanker truck. It’s unclear at this time, but authorities suggested the tanker was either moving slowly, slowing down, or “broken down” along I-45 when the U-Haul truck crashed into it.
As a result of the collision, a man and a woman in the U-Haul were both taken to an area hospital. It did not appear they were in life-threatening conditions. It’s unclear if there were any other injuries resulting from the crash. Investigations into the factors leading up to the wreck are ongoing.
