Harris County, TX — November 18, 2023, Tanika Thompson Doe was killed following a pedestrian accident at around 8:07 p.m. along Dell Dale Street.
Authorities said in their statements that the collision happened in the area of the Dell Dale Street and Peachmeadow Lane intersection.
Investigators said in their statements that 41-year-old Tanika Doe was on foot at the time and apparently on northbound lanes of Dell Dale Street. Authorities said they weren’t able to determine if Doe was crossing the street or walking along the lanes of travel. While there, however, a northbound pickup struck and killed Doe. The pickup then left the scene.

The statements from authorities suggest they have identified the vehicle and the driver involved in the accident. Details surrounding that aren’t really clear right now, but if the allegations are true, were authorities able to determine why the driver left?
Generally speaking, drivers don’t leave accident scenes because of the accident itself. There’s usually an extenuating circumstances they don’t want police to know about. More common factors are drunk driving, warrants, drugs, and stolen vehicles. Maybe that’s not what happened here, but considering someone lost their life, it’s important their loved ones know there is going to be accountability for what happened here.
