Randall County, TX — August 2, 2025, Tania Powers and two others were injured following a car accident around 10:19 p.m. along Loop 335.
Authorities say the crash happened just south of Amarillo at the intersection of Loop 335 and Foxtail Street, just off Washington Street.
Preliminary statements say that 58-year-old Tania Powers and two others were in a Ford Taurus going westbound on the highway. A Ford F-150 was going eastbound when the driver allegedly failed to yield. As a result, the vehicles collided.
Tania Powers reportedly sustained serious injuries in the accident. One of the Taurus passengers and the F-150 driver had non-incapacitating injuries. At this time, additional details about the accident remain unconfirmed.

When authorities say one driver “failed to yield,” it may sound like the case is closed, but that often leaves out critical context. Families and victims usually want more than just a quick explanation—they want to know if the investigation looked at all the factors that could have played a role.
For example, did officials carefully reconstruct the crash scene, including traffic signal timing, visibility, and vehicle speeds? Were both vehicles checked for possible mechanical issues, like brake or steering problems? And did investigators look into distraction, fatigue, or other driver behaviors that might explain how things unfolded?
Those questions matter because crashes rarely come down to a single mistake. Ensuring they’re asked—and answered—can make the difference between a partial explanation and a full understanding of what happened.
