Houston, TX — March 3, 2024, Tambra Kanady and another were injured after an alleged drunk driver accident at around 11:45 p.m. on Hollister Road.
Preliminary information about the accident says that it happened at the intersection of Hollister Road and West Little York Road.
According to officials, 36-year-old Tambra Kanady was a passenger in a Kia SUV going northbound on Hollister. While crossing Little York, an eastbound Nissan Rogue reportedly failed to yield, and it crashed into the Kia. As a result, Kanady sustained injuries described as serious. The Nissan driver reportedly had moderate injuries.

Current information shows that authorities suspect the Nissan driver was under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred. If that’s true, did they also find out where that alcohol came from? Here’s why that matters.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Seeing alleged drunk drivers face charges may be appropriate, but the problem is a lot of investigations start and stop with those drivers. Meanwhile, the bars, restaurants, and other alcohol providers that illegally over-serve them slip under the radar, and they just continue over-serving people and putting the community in danger. The ones who are held accountable, though, clean up their act quick.
In my time litigating personal injury cases against hundreds of alcohol providers, I’ve found authorities in Houston are more likely to work with victims and their families and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission to ensure both drunk drivers and the negligent establishments over-serving them face appropriate consequences. But even they inevitably miss things here and there. That’s why it would be a lot more reassuring to know if authorities were looking into all possible contributing factors here. If nothing else, victims and families deserve to know someone is going to get them the answers they deserve.
