How Did This Accident Occur?
Preliminary reports indicate a semi-truck caused this crash by running a stop sign, but you shouldn’t assume that is all there is to the story.
What if the truck had a problem with its brakes or some kind of manufacturing defect that prevented it from stopping? Those possibilities, which I’ve seen in other crashes in my career, can’t be ruled out just by look at debris at the crash scene.
That is why a thorough investigation into this crash is needed. It should include an examination of witness accounts, vehicle data and physical evidence from the scene, so we can form a conclusion based on facts, not assumptions.
