Accident Report

February 20, 2026, Susan Guerra and two others were injured due to a car accident at approximately 5:30 p.m. along State Highway 107.

According to authorities, 40-year-old Susan Guerra was traveling in a northbound GMC Yukon on Conway Avenue/Alton Boulevard at the Mile 7 Road intersection when the accident took place. The intersection is controlled by a traffic signal. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Yukon entered the intersection at a purportedly unsafe time, failing to yield the right-of-way. A collision consequently occurred between the left side of the Yukon and the front-end of an eastbound Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck occupied by a 65-year-old man. The Yukon apparently overturned over the course of the accident. An eastbound Ford F-150 pickup truck occupied by a 50-year-old man was also involved in the wreck.

Guerra reportedly sustained serious injuries over the course of the accident. The men from the two pickup truck suffered minor injuries, as well, according to reports. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Over three decades: that’s how long I’ve been analyzing car accidents. As such, I’ve been able to cultivate a rather unique perspective. When I read about car accidents like this one—where one vehicle allegedly fails to yield at a traffic signal controlled intersection—I can’t help but to wonder if there were any underlying causes? Most people assume it’s driver error, but what if that wasn’t the case?

You can feel free to let me know in a comment whether or not you think this is too far fetched, but what if the Yukon was experiencing brake failure at the time of the wreck? If that were the case, then the blame does not belong heaped upon the victim. Susan Guerra and the other two people who were hurt deserve to know what was really at the root of their suffering. Hopefully, the authorities who are in charge of investigating this accident have the wherewithal and determination to look past the obvious, peeling back the layers of the accident to unearth any hidden factors. If not, then perhaps a third party investigations should be considered.
