Houston, TX — August 3, 2024, Sura Rodriguez and two others were injured following a car accident just before 3:15 a.m. along Hempstead Road.
According to authorities, 30-year-old Sura Rodriguez and a 60-year-old woman were traveling in a southbound Ford Edge on West 34th Street at the Hempstead Road intersection when the accident took place.
The intersection is reportedly controlled by a traffic signal, but it is unknown which vehicle had the right of way at the time of the accident due to differing statements. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision took place in the intersection between the right side of the southbound Ford Edge and the front-end of an eastbound Ford Edge occupied by a 56-year-old man.
Rodriguez suffered serious injuries as a result of the wreck, according to reports. The man from the other Ford was moderately hurt and the woman who had been in the vehicle with Rodriguez sustained minor injuries, as well. Those who necessitated it were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
