Guernsey County, OH — December 4, 2024, two people were killed and Sukhginder Singh was injured after a dual truck accident along Interstate 77.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened in the northbound lanes of the interstate in the area north of Cambridge.

Officials said that Sukhginder Singh was in a semi-truck going northbound along I-77. Another commercial truck was going southbound when, for reasons unclear, the vehicle lost control. It careened across the median, went into northbound lanes, and crashed into Singh’s vehicle.
Two people from the southbound truck were killed as a result of the crash. Singh was taken from the scene with unspecified injuries. Right now, the cause of the crash is unclear.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Obviously something has to go very wrong for a truck to careen over the median like this. Folks may be quick to jump to conclusions that the driver made a mistake. Things like speeding, fatigue, and distraction are certainly worth considering, but any experienced truck driver will attest to the fact this can involve all kinds of complex factors, common or not.
Did the truck hit something in the road? Did the truck have a defect with its tires, brakes, or steering mechanism? Did a cargo shift cause the truck to lose control? Was the driver properly trained and experienced? Have they been in serious accidents before? Were they operating a truck their employer refused to maintain properly? Were they trying to meet unreasonable deadlines set by their employer? Was there another reckless driver involved who cut off the truck, then left the scene?
Simply put, I’ve handled hundreds of commercial truck wrecks, and these are the kinds of questions an accident reconstruction should be able to answer. If authorities haven’t made an effort to ask those questions, they could be missing something important. That’s why I have to wonder if authorities in charge of these investigations have the time and resources to investigate something as challenging as a dual commercial truck accident.
