Stephen Windham, 1 Injured in Car Accident on U.S. 190 in Polk County, TX

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck attempted to exit a private drive and enter U.S. 190 at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to highway traffic. This resulted in a collision between the front-end of the blue Silverado and the right side of an eastbound white Chevrolet Silverado. The collision caused the white Silverado to go into a skid across the center line of the highway, entering the westbound lanes. This resulted in a collision between the hitch of the pickup truck and the left side of the westbound van. That collision caused the van to overturn, coming to a stop on the north side of the highway resting on its roof.

Windham suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. The other man who had also been in the van received apparently minor injuries, as well. No other injuries have been reported.

Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
