How Did This Accident Occur?

While I don’t know anything more about this crash than what’s public, some familiar red flags suggest that alcohol could explain what happened here. It’s common late at night, it’s a common reason drivers run from crash scenes, and it would certainly explain a driver doing something as easily avoidable as failing to yield. Of course, finding that driver is a key part of finishing the investigations. Either authorities have already taken steps behind the scenes to find the driver, or they may need to release more information to the public. That way, someone might connect the dots and help locate the runaway driver and see there’s finally some accountability here.
