Obviously, there is a serious lack of clarity on what led to the crash. Folks would generally assume authorities could find out who crossed the center line in a crash like this. Perhaps authorities know more now than when they relayed information to local media. But I’ve seen plenty of scenarios where authorities couldn’t get the whole story without more thorough investigations from independent accident reconstructionists. That could be due to a lack of equipment, a particularly complex crash scene, not prioritizing a serious accident, or due to simple mistakes that slip through the cracks. Hopefully steps are being taken here to make up for any of those shortcomings so the victim’s loved ones can at least get the answers they deserve.
