Man Injured in Single-Vehicle Accident on U.S. 290 in Austin, TX

It appears that a 44-year-old man was in an Audi A4 traveling along the highway. The vehicle somehow lost control and went off the right side of the road before then veering left into the opposite curb line. The vehicle then veered right again and hit the barrier. As a result, the driver had injuries described as incapacitating.

Right now, the cause of the crash hasn’t been confirmed. However, authorities mentioned drugs and alcohol as possible factors. To be clear, authorities sometimes say that just because it’s something they’re looking into. They may not actually have suspicion that intoxication was a factor. It very well could be, of course. I handle a lot of personal injury cases involving single vehicle accidents, and this early in the morning, alcohol is incredibly common. But until there’s actual evidence, I would discourage folks from jumping to conclusions.
