When it comes to single-vehicle accidents, I’m used to seeing incomplete, bare-bones stories. The reality is they’re not often seen as a high priority, so sometimes authorities let them slip through the cracks. I get calls all the time from folks who feel authorities weren’t really looking for answers or perhaps just wanted someone to blame. Single-vehicle wrecks are among the worst offenders for these types of situations. Now, there are times where an independent investigation, for example, just confirms everything authorities already know. Even that can be a welcome peace of mind for folks. Other times, though, independent investigations are exactly what’s needed to pick up the slack and ensure important details don’t go unnoticed. It remains to be seen how that might play out here.
